Deep within Pine Springs Canyon is a stretch of near-white rock, stippled by maple and ash, pine and madrone (center). Here, the canyon floor is awash in fallen leaves (left and right), while brilliant leaves remain on branches (top: ash against maple; bottom: maple)—at least until the cooler, windier days of November prevail.
